I was working at my PC late last night, window wide open due to the hot sticky climate and somehow I managed to run over a moth with my mouse that had been dancing about my light and taken a nose dive onto my mouse mat at the precise time I was rolling in that direction..... Result one semi dead moth (bit of a one wing flap session still going so I had to do the final deed manually)..... am I the first person to cause Mouse Mat Kill?

I very much doubt it, in much the same way as I very much doubt that you are the first person to start a new thread for something which could/should have gone into the "Random sh!t thread" :etc:

You’re probably right and maybe I should have stuck it there as it is a bit of a waffle, point taken. I'll PM you when I next decide to make a thread so you can advise me as to where best to put it (and I can probably guess where) without making me look like a nob.

You obviously don't need my help :etc: By the way, did you mean nob as in knob or nob as in mis-spelt n00b? :etc:

Isnt it technically the mouse that mortally wounded the moth and not the mouse mat?

I think a more important question is did the mouse mat have a picture of a light bulb, or maybe a flame on it?

I've killed numerous biscuit crumbs that have fallen on it..if that counts As for living things? I may have thrown it at my sister a few times, but as for fatalities....no

Awww, what did the poor moths ever do to you??
You're over a thousand times the size of them, they aren't poisonous or dangerous at all and you could squash one with your pinky finger. Wassup!!?!?!

They're ugly, and... and... and... They fly around my bulb at night, and attack you while you sleep, and flutter in the lampshade, and! I just hate them!

Nob as in slang for cock! etc.... It was more of a road kill comparison, which you could use the same theory on really – the vehicle not the road being the killer.

+1 on the whole 'I don't like moths or butterflies' thing. Kill them all. With fire. Or those amusing electric tennis bat things.
