been keeping this a secret but ive been digging constantly digging huge holes everywhere that soon this place will look like meteors hit it. Dunno if I mentioned the finding of the remains of an RAF ww2 wellington bomber, which I managed to fit the wing airframe in the boot, but recently ive found something much better,

Digging at a spot where I found a couple of victorian era bottles which I kept, to get to the place I found the few bottles I had to walk up a kinda little hill slope, but very recently I looked down at this area and realised the slope itself is actually part of this victorian era dump, so in effect I have dugup about 400 intact glass victorian era bottles, or edwardian? all colours, gold brown green, even that nice blue. I am also in the possession of some weird clay? ginger beer bottles now too. And I will not cease to dig until I clear the whole area. I have an interested buyer but I need to ask here if anyone know who deals in old glass? I dont care if I sell them bulk and get ripped off £1 a bottle, thats still at least £400

apart from bottles ive dugup an iron fender from a victorian range cooker, I left that, old pots and anti gas tubes etc

Can't help but feel you're robbing someone.

Somebody owns the land. Even if itøs common land youøll need permission for treasure hunting.

Get permission, then "make the find".

The inside of it looks like an oil filter from an engine of some description!

finally a decent response. thank you. It could be plausible because at the same area is where I found the pre-war naval ship component, only this part is much lighter and in better condition ;)

If that's what it is, then that bit sticking out the side could be a screwdriver (or similar tool) that's been jammed through it to unscrew the filter - a common way for mechanics to remove a stubborn rusted-on oil filter!! Over years, it's rusted and looks like it's become part of the filter itself?

First off, whatever your feelings on the difficulty of investigating the ownership of the land, you'd do well to do so - it could well guard yourself against any potential comeuppance - and may also give you license to continue further... it'd be a small sacrifice of your time and effort to do so - for what as you say - could be of some gain.

That said however, although I'm no expert, I do think you're grossly over-estimating the worth of these items you've described so far - I mean seriously - it's not like you've found the lost faberge eggs.
