Results of a customer satisfaction survey carried out by Which? magazine.
The ten best:
1. Lush 2. John Lewis, Apple 3. Lakeland 4. Clarks 5. Richer Sounds 6. Disney Store 7. Ikea 8. Morrisons, Bonmarche 9. Marks & Spencer, Evans Cycles, Waterstones 10. Maplin Electronics, Jones Bootmaker, Monsoon, The Perfume Shop
And the ten worst:
1. Halfords 2. WH Smith 3. Blacks 4. Tesco, Poundstretcher, JJB Sports 5. BHS, Brantano, TK Maxx 6. Primark, Homebase, JD Sports, Garden Centre Group 7. PC World 8. Millets, Barratts, Topshop/Topman, Currys Digital 9. New Look, Office, Shoe Zone, Mothercare, Stead & Simpson, Toys R Us 10. Comet, Currys, Robert Dyas, River Island, Sports Direct, HMV, M&Co, Gamestation, Matalan, Burton, The Range
No real surprises there, I suspect. I sometimes wonder how WHSmith keeps its High Street stores open. Ikea is torture to visit IMO.

So that's stores that specialise in customer service and an nice environment good, enormous draughty prefab commerco-barns staffed by disinterested staff on minimum wage bad.
Shocking revelation there.

One thing that strikes me about those lists is that many of the stores at the top are ones I recognise as having staff who might have at least some vauge idea about the stuff they are selling and manage to at least show some interest in the customer. The reverse is true for many in the bottom 10. I must confess I've never experience the customer service in Lush because the stench emanating from their shops makes me want to run away into fresh air rather than go in

Hmm.. looking at that list, I may have to give Morrisons a go for grocery shopping. The one near me has always seemed a bit... chavvy though.

So 17 stores are the top 10.

If one is diving so close to the limits that +/- 1% will make a difference then the error has already been made.

Lush? I'm dissatisfied with the stench just walking past that place.

What is Lush? Having never heard of it, I can safely say I've never stepped into one.
I wonder if there's a wage difference between the top and bottom stores?

Cosmetics. Not been in one meself but it sounds a bit like the Body Shop but replace hippies with skateboarders.. http://www.lush.co.ukNot sure. I can't imagine on average they pay a lot more. 'Shop assistant' isn't a well paid job wherever you are. Although don't John Lewis staff have a very good profit-sharing scheme on top?

Our local Morrison's is awful. Cluttered and chavvy. The nearest Tesco is really good though, even if it is slightly chavvy too.

I like debenhams, it's fairly quiet and clothes are good quality. John lewis I go to for fabric/knitting stuff. I hate apple stores with a passion, but due to the customers, not the staff. Same with Disney. Special note for HMV on oxford st which used not to play music or really quietly which was a nice break for the surrounding shops. Now that they stopped selling world cinema and they upped the noise level I think I'll be going a lot less. I choose my shops by noise level as I very easily get tinnitus so I guess you'll find me in granny shops or Carnaby street

From now on I will buy all of my car parts and groceries in Lush and enjoy the wonderful experience.
Of course I'll need a chemical-hazard encounter suit first. My eyes bleed, I erupt in boils and my lungs turn inside-out if I get within 50 feet of the stinking toxic hole.

I don't mind Lush. What I do know is that they expect a certain number of sales per foot fall; they have a counter on the door and they're expected to make x number sales per number of visitors. So, if you want to upset them, just pointlessly hover in the door way going and back and forth dozens of times.

Never heard of Lush, presumably they don't have many stores up North?
