ok I think someone on here was right about my card, just got my bank statement with my electron, its showing LOADS of apple itunes purchases WHICH WASNT ME! whoever is using my card is spending a fortune every day on apple itunes music? on my money. theres 6 pages of bank statements, whats confusing me is that the 5th and 6th pages its showing that the money is being refunded back into my account eg: it says "APPLE ITUNES STORE £10.33 MONEY IN (£) money in????? and its showing this on all the purchases apparently, so does this mean that bank has spotted the fraud and got my cash back or? can anyone explain before I panic?

You should really be phoning your bank ASAP rather than talking to us first!

Banks usually have a 24 hour helpline.

In order of panic-ness...

1. Phone your bank and report this. DO IT NOW!! The longer you wait, the less chance you have of stopping it and getting your money back. Banks will be less likely to pay back the amounts if they know that you were aware of these fraudulent purchases while they were happening and didn't report it straightaway.
EDIT: Posted this while you typed your reply above, I see you've tried to do this but make sure you follow it up tomorrow morning.

2. Log-in to your iTunes Store account and change the password - that's assuming the culprit hasn't done that already themselves.

3. While in iTunes Store, go to the "My Account" section and remove the Electron card.

4. I think there's an option to stop purchases on a credit card, but don't quote me on that.

5. Don't add your new Visa Debit Card details until you're sure it's completely safe to do so. If in doubt, open a new iTunes Store Account under different login details (i.e different email account and password).

6. Run a virus and spyware scan over your PC. Make sure the virus definitions are up to date. If you haven't got any anti-virus software installed, try AVG Free Edition or Microsoft Security Essentials.

What bank are you with - any bank worth its salt should have flagged these suspicious purchases up already - maybe it's time to consider moving to a bank that has better fraud protection?

bank of scotland, and I dont have an itunes account

Ah right, I assumed this was the result of a phishing attempt - someone getting your iTunes Store account details via a fake email or some other means. I guess they've just got your card details from another source and used them to fund their own iTunes Store account, if that's the case it might be easily traceable by their fraud department. Chances are they've opened up a new iTunes account just for these purchases.

If it were me then, I'd ask my bank to change my account number and issue me with another new Visa card linked to that new account, and then close the old account. Ask to speak to their fraud department and discuss what options they suggest.

Are you sure there's no mention of this in the documents that came with your new Visa Debit card? Seems an odd coincidence to me.

Dunno why, but in any case it's suspicious so it needs reporting to your bank.

I'd change bank if I was you - decent banks have a 24hr fraud helpline, or even 24hr phone support full stop.
