Thought I'd resurrect another old meeting place thread. The idea is that you find an image on Google Earth, then everyone has to guess where/what it is. The winner picks the next image etc. The only other rules are that 1) north must be at the top, no trying to trick people with south being at the top etc. 2) the image must be current so people can look it up. I'll start. Where or what is this?

I presume the image has the be the current one. Google Earth has a history feature which lets you “go back in time” to see earlier images.

I need you to be a tad more specific. That one isn't just any plane. I'll accept the plane itself, or it's exact location. To answer the other question, current images only, so people can look it up.

Nope, it's a bit more local than that. Think news stories (though I won't say when).

I'm off to be now so I won't be able to confirm a right answer. It was the 777 that crashed at Heathrow the other year. It's at the east end of the southern runway.
Somebody else find an image please.

Blackpool Tower I'm at work atm and don't have access to map stuff though. Someone else do one and I'll do mine tonight.

How about this one? They must have taken new pics, because they are worse than the old ones. It might seem a bit obscure, but I promise you that it is world famous.

It's the old Airfix factory! B52 department.

Unless you do know where that is, it is very close to being right. (Not the Airfix part )

I do now, but I'm going to keep schtum for a bit. (Mainly because it will be easy for me to get sucked into this game when I should be working, and I can't think of any places worthy of sharing with the world.)
