I have this: http://www.argos.co.uk/static/Product/p ... ESAGEM.htm The problem is, it's battery doesn't last too long* despite the fact I charged it as the manual suggested, and I've let it drain right down a few times. The only other thing I can think off is GPRS (I can't find an easy to read explanation of what GPRS actually is!) as I have it switched off on the phone, but it still shows on the display. The display text changes colour when GPRS is actually activated, so I can't see why the text needs to show up when it's off, really ![]() The only way I can get rid of the text is by going into flight mode, but that knocks out message sending capability ![]() The phone is set to run very economically power-wise and Bluetooth etc isn't activated, so I'm thinking this GPRS thing is the issue... Any ideas? ![]() * Maybe three days of the odd text and standby mode (from 6.30am 'til 12am) as I rarely make or receive calls all told. By then the battery is on it's last 'quarter' ![]() |

Are you sure GPRS is actually active? On my previous phones, a symbol comes up to show it is available but isn't actually in use. I thought it's one of those services that aren't actually activated until you use them. Have you checked the manual to see what symbols should show when gprs is active and when it is just available? EDIT: A quick google shows a coupla people stating battery life is around 3-4 days on standby. |

That's just it, I don't think it is active, but I can see no other reason why the battery is draining so quickly ![]() The manual doesn't tell me jack ![]() The GPRS is set to 'request only' which is the only option of the two given remotely useful in my situation. |
