I sold something on eBay and the buyer was able to pickup the item rather than me sending it. He's paid cash so can I cancel the auction without it affecting feedback scores / ebay getting their slice etc?

Moral outrage at such an unscrupulous deed is expected and welcome.

I've done that before as well with no backlash so you should be fine.
