Geek, defined as hands on practical interest in the tech. Applied/ tinkering Nerd, defined as interlectual facination with the science . Theory/ knowledge Pie, any sort, sweet or savoury. Does not include quiche, tarts or pasties. |

Going by this, I would classify myself as a "Nerd". Going by your definitions, I suppose I would be a geek. EDIT: Looking at Wikipedia, I am definitely a nerd.

my understasnding was that geeks were hardware (techies/design), nerds were software(interlectuals/theory) |
