Evening all,
Before I start I should explain that I can't put this in the Windows software forum, as I might need something for the Mac or iPhone, etc. but I would prefer it if the software ran on Windows...
I've got a friend, (yes, I know... that sounds unbelievable!) who recently suffered a stroke. He is recovering, but is still having trouble putting his thoughts into words. His family have looked into buying some software to help him, but it was all seriously expensive, and so they have asked me if I can look into it.
Basically want they want, (and I am going to try and explain it as it was told to me) is some sort of software that will help him with his speaking. They'd looked at a piece of software which simulates a conversation where they show a picture of, say, a picture. The voice in the PC says "picture" and the user replies...
I know we have some people here with a medical background, so I was wondering if you guys could save me some donkey work and maybe give me some suggestions. Preferably not too expensive, and more preferably free, but I'm sure they won't mind paying a small amount.
Thanks in advance.
John.
PS. I don't care if it runs on Linux. I'll find a way to make it accessible.
