suddenly my right ear is constantly ringing and I dunno why  its quite loud (only for me obviously) and just curious if anyones had the same? apparently theres no cure or something. I dont play music loud or headset loud so I dunno whats caused it dunno how I will manage to sleep now, did have hayfever few days ago and my left ear kinda feels blocked a bit, and earlier today my hearing did feel a bit funny

Tinnitus is what you are describing. I have it. I've had it since I was about 12 years old. Have you been firing your handguns or anything like that? Mark |

In all honesty, it's probably wax or fluid behind the ear drum. Having said that, tinnitus in one side may need to be investigated (eg scan) so please get it checked out. |

Does one get that from a GP? I have very frequent ringing in my ear, and my mum and my aunts are all deaf (ooops I meant hearing impaired)/with severe tennitus. What bugs me more is the pain in my ears in crowded places like open spaces office or pubs. Not sure that is a symptom :S |

I've had tinnitus for the last few years. I have worked in loud environments (as a Sound Engineer) but I don't think it's the cause (as it goes quiet/stops for short periods). Mine seems to be related to TMJD so I've got a night guard thing from the dentists to basically realign my jaw in my sleep, seems to be working a bit as the other day I realised that the ringing had gone. It came back but it's looking good. |

ye, few days ago sneezing literally every 3 seconds, no guns fired no, I used military ear defenders when I do left ear hurts today, right ear still ringing but not as bad as it was last night it seems |

Out of interest, have you had an audiogram recently? I worked in pro audio for several years, but I've not been an engineer for any length of time and I don't regularly attend concerts or larger gigs. But although I have above average hearing across most of the standard range, I do have a notch in my freq response below 250hz. I'm guessing it's due to my adiction to LF. It was fascinating to find out and a little bit concerning. It's free at Specsavers I think (although my ex works there, so I always get special treatment). I would recommend it to anyone with a lot of music going on in their lives, coz you never know and if you're anything like me, your ears are just as important to you as your eyes. |

Is this normal? the ringing has stopped but when I was packing ebay items with sellotape and when you roll out sellotape it makes that shrill loud sound and that made my right ear ring, I "flicked" my right ear as a test with my finger and it goes *ring* each time as though theres a little bell inside it
