I'm not a big fan but I've watched bits of it and I've quite enjoyed the atmosphere but I will be glad to have my trains back on Monday Saw this article by Tony Parsons yesterday and I think we have a lot to be proud of clicky

It's been good, my 6 year old niece knows more about sport now than I do, so I guess they can tick the enthusing a new generation of sports fans and competitors box. London has been packed full of happy fans who don't fight each other, which is nice. The whole cultural olympiad thing was a bit of an embarrassment, but the real olympics was surely as good as any before. I liked Carol Ann Duffy poem that Jon put in the other thread, it's really only Britain that can have a poet laureate who celebrates our triumphs but doesn't hold back on criticising our failings at the same time. Compare that to Fox news whining that American audiences aren't shouting "USA" enough and the athletes don't have Stars 'n Stripes uniforms anymore http://newshounds.prohost.mobi/207678/s ... 75d2182ad/But yes, I'm happy the good thing has come to an end.

Meh. It's been sort of interesting. I don't watch much TV anyway, and I'm not a big sports fan, but it's been interesting watching the overall circus of the thing. I am glad, however, that I wasn't in London for the duration.

I am glad because no more Olympics = space in the schedules for the TARDIS.

Bring on the winter Olympics. They're much more fun to watch.

I'm not bothered since I didn't really watch much of it, but found it a curio nonetheless.

I voted yes.
We'll use this couple of weeks of adequacy as an excuse to paper over the cracks yet again - but at least I won't have to scroll through twenty-odd channels of cruft to get to the news of countries that manage to be more [LIFTED] than ours.

It's not much of a question Caz - as in, I'm not glad they're over, because I was never put out by them being on, nor fostered any crazy idea that it could last forever. Just like Christmas, and visits to the dentist, the Olympics come and go, and more often than not in equal measures of the good and the bad.
