There would be a lot to consider there...

The first step would be to work out if the film would, in anyway, be propped up by the profits from Babylon 5.

Almost certainly has by now. It may not have when it was first produced but it's been in syndication and DVD and etc since. 'Long tail' as they say. Jon

It am shed loads of money. However, Hollywood Accounting ensured that it made as loss as those profits were offset against poorly performing films. The downside of this is that B5 is unlikely to get the HD treatment that Star Trek is enjoying.
