Posting this here to get the widest response. I've a feeling there was a similar thread before but I'd never be able to find it  Got an Acer A200 tablet, still tinkering but so far so awesome. Anyway, which apps do you recommend (avoiding)? These are for my phone rather than tablet, but:
3G Watchdog (free) - monitors and displays how much of my data allowance I've used
Astro file manager (free) - manages files and back up apps etc
Amazon Mobile for Android (free) - for shopping on Amazon
British Airways (free) - so I can check-in and get boarding cards on my phone.
Bit-Tech (free) - tech news etc
Compass (free) - don't really use it to be honest
Exchange Rates (free) - useful on holiday
RealCalc (free) - scientific calculator
PowerAMP (paid for) - plays FLAC and MP3's etc.
Facebook (free) - for accessing Facebook, not perfect though.
Advanced task Killer (free) - to kill apps running in the background.
Wifi Analyzer (free) - shows wifi networks and best channels to use etc.
Google Maps (free) - satnav etc
Google Earth (free)
Sky Map (free) - shows stars planets etc at night.
+ some games: Robodefence, Angry birds, Air control, Blow up, Jewls, etc
