Now, I hadn't seen the Bill in years, but caught bit of it last night...

What the hell has happened to the acting, plot... even the street set with the pathetic riot last night was God-awful

The Bill was hardly world-class TV to begin with, but it used to be a heck of a lot better than that

I haven't watched last night's yet but looked strange when I flicked over by accident.

They film quite a bit of it where I live. I am on the Jasmin Alan

I've yet to watch them, cos they are recorded but last night's was part of a six part story filmed in a different style that we have seen before.

Just recently, it does seem to have been more and more about CID and often Uniform don't get much of a look in for weeks. Then they go back to uniform for a spell. Why they can't do more alternating or combining, I don't know.

One episode that sticks in my mind as one of the best for combining all elements opened with a very nasty road accident and it turned out that the offending vehicle was a cut and shut, move on to the CID investigation, culminating in an exciting raid on a ringing operation. Something for everyone.

These days, it seems that the cast spend half their time in the station interviewing, most of the remaining time on the phone or computer and the remainder of the time chasing a suspect because they shouted "Stop. Police" from 300 yards away.

To be fair, that's always been a Bill classic - I remember them doing that when they were floors above someone

It is a Bill classic, but if they didn't do that any longer, then we would be robbed of the only "excitement" that we see in some episodes.

The bill went down hill after Don Beech left.

He was my fave character and I loved the mini-arc when he was being chased by that slag who slept with the ginger that he killed.

There've been a coupla babes too - I liked that bird called Honey. She had nice eyes.
