smashed it on concrete slipping out hands, I think my contacts and lots of my pics are on the phone itself  rather than the SIM, it switches on for short while then randomly cuts out really worried I lose those phone numbers _________________

took out battery and left it out for a bit, 5 mins then put back in and it seems to work fine now  _________________

Now might be time to either move the contacts onto the SIM card or backup another way (sync to PC, cloud backup, even a series of snapshots if that phone can do that). Or a good old pen and paper backup!
