http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-northern-ireland-22000903 We use it, but I take nothing to do with it. How's it been for you then?

Haven't lived in a property that uses it since late 2009. It's all electric in this flat, so I'm just happy about the reduction in price of that, plus I use a meter, which gives me a further reduction.

I'm paying around 60-65p a litre in south England and this extended winter has buggered me slightly. I bought 1300 litres in August, hoping it would see me through, but I had to order another 500 litres a couple of weeks ago. I have also burned what I would consider to be a [LIFTED] load of wood.

Have you tried getting a home insulation grant? You might qualify from one scheme or another.

Can't see what I could insulate, I have loft insulation, double glazing and 3 foot thick walls already! Plus the house is rented.

Renting is not a problem. Their are schemes for that, though you will need the landlords permission, usually not a problem if they are sensible.

Same here. We bought a couple of thousand litres in October and we have just ordered another thousand. We could really do with topping up with another 4000, but that is too much for us at the moment. We'll save up and buy a big load in the summer, hopefully the prices will sink a bit in August or so.

It may not. Refineries switch production through out the year depending on demand and what oil they have arriving. Heating oil is heavy and uses low grade oil. Gasoline is cheaper to make from lighter oil so if they have lots of light oil, heating oil is not the easiest to produce.
