Well, it's been a horrible few weeks for a variety of reasons. But some things have been good. Seeing Prof and JonLumb was cool (albeit briefly), I've been to the beach a few times and I've shortened my very short list of people that really matter, even more.

First thing tomorrow, I will drive to Swindon, pop in and see my Grandad (who is apparently dying from lung cancer), then on to Dover, to a ferry and then through the night to France, Belgium, Germany, Switzerland and finally back to Italy. It's reportedly going to be sunny with light cloud and a +22 high. I cannot bloody wait.

Just need to finish packing!

Have a good trip. Surprisingly I'll actually be somewhere warmer - it's 27 in France! But then I'm coming back a few days later, sadly...

I trust they're keeping your granddad as comfortable as possible. Always sad, but on the bright side at least he got to see his grand children grow up and explore the world. I'm sure he's very proud of you.

Thanks guys. Grandad didn't look that hot, but it was good to see him. Now on the boat and looking forward to the next 14 hours of the drive.
