In the long tradition stretching all the way back to the old place and the famous "hug" thread (anyone remember that one?) I'd like to tell you a story about the mess I find myself in, having only been in Italy for less than a week. That said, if I were to actually tell you the story in customary James fashion, we might be here all day and I would need to buy many more birre medie to actually finish it. So here, in a rare case, the highlights:
Arrive in hotel after 29 hour drive last Tuesday afternoon.
By the evening meet 40 other people here to work on Lakes Garda, Como and Maggiore, I already know perhaps 10 of them.
There are many interesting (and a lot more not so) young ladies.
I ask (and fully expect after guarantees made to me during the winter) to be placed in a team with a manager a know and respect.
I get given a town I don't want, with a manager I don't know and has a reputation as a bit of a "wild one".
I am pissed off for two days.
I form a friendship with, and subsequently begin flirting with a girl who it turns out is shipping out to Lake Como.
Her best friend is a (verified by most in attendence) slut after having worked a winter as a chalet host.
She ships out and continues to flirt with me via text to this day.
I quite like her, but she's like 24 and this is getting to be something of a destructive pattern for me </psychcological observation>
I arrive in said town and it turns out to be rather nice.
My new team are all relatively ok people.
One Scottish one is a little too prudish and polite for my liking. She appears to not like my character (this persists).
I form a friendship with a girl in my team who is 20, but seemingly experienced in life.
She's a bit weird like me.
My boss decides to tell the rest of my team that she is into me, but keeps me in the dark.
We go out as a team and she gets drunk and is a TOTAL mess. Trys to hang off me unsuccesfully, but won't actually say anything.
Awkward.
More awkward.
The 20yr old goes out last night with a few of the team, I go to bed to get some must needed rest and too avoid the boss.
She calls me at 0030 and tells me to answer the door.
She is standing there in just a long skirt with 34Cs in my face.
She tells me that my roomate (24yr old kid who looks like he belongs on X Factor) is in her bed upstairs (we all live in the same building) and she has shagged him after feeling pressured into it by the rest of the group.
But it wasn't very good.
And she regrets it.
And she likes me
I [LIFTED] hate repping. What a bunch of incestous bastards.
I send her away and go back to sleep (I'm exhausted and not ready for my first guests who arrive Wednesday).
This morning, everyone knows about her and my roomie. But she tells her roomie that she came down to see me after and my roomie overhears this.
More awkward.
Have a team meeting in two hours and can't wait.
