One of my colleagues became a UK citizen on Friday and we were all gobsmacked by the questions that were set in the test.

Off the top of my head... What the distance between Land's end and John O'Groats (why??)
Who to go to if you are looking for housing (fair enough, useful thing to know)
Name all the patron saints (we all struggled with that one)
National day for Northern Ireland... (again why? lol)

Now she's passed the test it's all gone out of her head of course.

12 out of 24.

Very pointless questions though.

I can't see how the majority of them are relevent.

Why would I care how long a school must be open for or how often a by-election is?

12 of 24, good job I don't want to live in the UK then, really.

But I agree with the others, only about 2 of the questions had any real relationship to wanting to be a UK citizen, then rest were more to do with parenting, wanting to live in the EU or wanting to scrounge from the State... :?

True, you rarely reside in reality let alone the UK.
