I haven't done a huge amount of travelling, but I've done a fair bit. I've been to most of europe, except for scandinavia and the old soviets like Poland etc. I've been to New Zealand too, but that's it.

My boss loves to travel though, and has been to a bewildering number of places. It turns out that my big boss is the same. He has only been in the job for a month, and before that he was travelling for five months. It's something he does "every few years" :o :)

Anyway, talking to them about some of the places they've visited is amasing. I'm starting to think I should take advantage of the cheap ferry deals you often see and pop over to see the frogs.

Mont Saint-Michel would be up there near the top of things I'd like to see in france.

Closer to home, I'd love to go the Lake District. From what I've seen it's just as beautiful as anything you'll find overseas, and it's only a few hours drive away! This summer I might just be able to treat myself to a long weekend in the Lake District if I work a few extra hours (and convince someone to come with haha). :D

I think I'd also enjoy a trip in the far-east. I know Oli really loved his trip around Japan. I've got a friend who went on a trip around cambodia, vietnam, and a few other countries in the region. He loved it too, and I think it would be great to see a completely different culture. The only problem is, it would be massively expensive!

Perhaps you should also avail yourself of some etiquette while you're over there?

I went to school there for a couple of years. I'm going back there for the first time since then in October for a week (as anyone that's seen my Facebook status can attest to) it's got beautifully stunning places as long as you're willing to walk to see them - of course, there's other places in the Lakes that don't require much effort at all to get to and are equally as picturesque, it's that sometimes working for the effort of seeing a beautiful view can be so much more rewarding.
I was supposed to go on this big trip across America, which I'd still like to do some day.
I may be going to Iceland next year, but the one place I would dearly love to go to is Easter Island.

"Frogs" is perfectly acceptable terminology, Nick is an Englishman after all, and I like the cut of his jib. ;)

After all, these are the people who call us "Les rosbifs".

I dunno. I'm sure there's lots of brill places to visit, I just can't bring any to mind at the moment. I've spent the afternoon photographing things locally again, and I'm not bored of this place yet, there's still so much to see. Different times of year and it looks different.

Ok, I'd love to see Venice. And Tokyo. I've been following a photog on Flickr and his B&W shots of LA look really interesting. I've heard it's hell on Earth, but maybe a trip round there might be fun.

As for racial epithets, I've heard this week from the German student at work that we're called Island Monkeys over there.
Which I quite like. :)

Why? So you can racially slur your way across the globe unchallenged?

It's not a racial slur. Neither is les rosbifs, and neither is island monkeys.

Loosen up a bit.

Ah yes, places to visit. I highly recommend Russia - in particular St. Petersburg was a joy to visit. Moscow was also interesting - particularly Red Square.

How can it be a racial slur? We're the same race. A national slur maybe, but then it goes both ways. :?
