We've had 3 boilers replaced at work and all are Viessmann which does both radiators and heating water.
So impressed with them we've replaced our old boiler at home with one and now no more cold showers

I'm having my boiler replaced and the plummer has quoted on 3 models: Vaillant 831 ecotec plus Worcester Bosch (£100 cheaper) Ideal espirit 30 (£460 cheaper) I have an Ideal boiler now and it's been going for 14 years. I'm thinking of going for the Vaillant as I remember my ex husband installed a lot of them when I did the invoicing for him. Thoughts anyone? I have no immediate plans to leave the house and I have the budget to install the most expensive. Thanks Carolyn |

I *think* we've just had the Vaillant ecotech 831 installed but will need to check when I get home. Worcester-Borsch are supposed to be expensive but worth the cost (any faults and they replace the parts) |

I like the modern Ideal boilers. they are very easy to install, have a 7 year warranty and are quite petite. the price is no reflection on quality either. For anyone in the know they are related to Keston, who have a top reputation in the trade. |

TBH I think that most modern boilers are pretty good. Caz, we were recommended the 831 or the 28 by my dad's cousin (who's a plumber). We went for the 28 (can't remember why). Get the system flushed with magnaflow stuff and get a magnetic filter fitted. |

Like others have said, most modern condensing combi boilers are pretty good. We've had a Worcester Bosch for ~10 years or so without any problems; my parents had one fitted last year, and and found (after fitting, of course) that the output is factory set to 55°C without any way of altering it - something to be aware of if you don't have mixer taps. Had a Vaillant in my old commercial premises and it was fine, no problems at all. HTH |

Is that very hot? - my boiler has a temp control so I can alter the hot water temp (and that's separate from the central heating water temp) - but I always have it, the hot water that is, set as high as possible as I like my hot water to be....HOT |

Is tha Valiant one, the one that produces electricity from the heat exchanger? There is currently a security issue with it, Valiant state that it has to be connected to the 'net, so that they can check it remotely, but there is a bug on the logon dialog, which allows all usernames and passwords to be read! They have currently said that they can be removed from the 'net, while they work on a patch. |
