Someone owns it, and you left a nasty message!

OK, so it wasn't so nasty. But what WAS nasty was the way you radically slowed down the loading of a thread on x404, as my computer sat around for 10-15 seconds "waiting for http://www.file-cabinet.co.uk". You bastard. :P

Hmmm, it's my avatar.

I wonder why it took so long? :?

It's usually quite snappy. :)

I suggest you block the domain if it's causing problems! :D

Is that all you use the domain for?

No.

I store all sorts of things there and it's an SVN repository too. :)

Seeing as I haven't noticed anything slowing down I think it's most likely your ISP? Perhaps DNS. *shrug*

I actually blocked it months ago, partly because of the speed fail and partly because your face is so scary

It's led to me being confused a couple of times when you refer to something I can't see.

I think you need to randomise the message the page displays, much in the same way your avatar changes with each refresh. ;)

Hmm, haven't had problems with it myself.

Going slightly off topic, went to visit my girlfriend's brother and his wife last night.

They've been suffering from intermittent network problems (long page loads or not being able to access it at all). Looks like DNS problems, I switched them to using openDNS and all the problems went away... :? Rebooting the computer solved the problem for 10 minutes or so, so not sure why it would suddenly stop working... :?

I use OpenDNS.

It's fantastic. We were on Virgin when we switched, and back then the Virgin DNS servers were painfully slow.

I don't know what plus.net are like, as we've never used their DNS services, but I don't see the need when OpenDNS is just so bloody good!

:)
