This came up in another thread, here's the Guardian's take

http://www.theguardian.com/film/filmblo ... ror-movies

It's just not a genre I'm really into, personally...

This evening I was going to start a thread asking people to contribute their Top 10's in various categories....and one of them would be horror films. I might still do but at the moment I'd say that the Guardian choices are pretty much the ones I'd expect a film critic to make.

1 The shining
2 Bad Taste
That is all. Most horror movies suck.

Just off the top of my head - or I'm going to sit here agonising over it all night - here's my Top 10:

1. Reanimator
2. Evil Dead
3. Sleepy Hollow
4. Texas Chainsaw Massacre
5. Suspiria
6. The Thing
7. Halloween
8. The Ring (japanese version)
9. The Hills Have Eyes (2006 remake)
10. Dawn Of The Dead (1978)

Edit: Does Tremors count as horror? If so I'd relegate Dawn Of The Dead to 11th and insert giant worms. :)

Awesome choice.

I'm struggling to wake up - so don't think I'm quite ready with a list.
