Ed Miliband plays it safe on Desert Island Discs - http://www.theguardian.com/politics/201 ... land-discs

Maybe he genuinely chose those, but either way it doesn't look good ;)

Anyway, what 8 tracks, book, and luxury item would you choose?

Personally I'm gonna have to give it a lot of thought

EDIT - I'll add and delete as they come to me. I'm currently thinking I'd be better choosing songs I listen to all the time anyway, so...

Don Henley - All She Wants To Do Is Dance
Bob Seger - Shakedown
AC/DC - Thunderstruck
Alabama 3 - Woke Up This Morning
Steve Earle - Copperhead Road
Moby - James Bond Theme
Queen - Gimme The Prize
Billy Joel - We Didn't Start The Fire

1. AC/DC - Bedlam In Belgium
2. Accept - Fast As A Shark
3. Motorhead - Motorhead (live version)
4. Venom - Black Metal
5. Metallica - Phantom Lord
6. Slayer - Angel Of Death
7. John Williams - Theme from Superman
8. Al Bowlly - My Woman

Book: Star Wars Year By Year - A Visual Chronicle

Luxury item: I've borrowed Mark Gatiss's choice here: A bath with a constant supply of hot water. In all of the episodes I've listened to his was the only one where I thought the interviewee got it right.

I would rather swap the tracks for books.

If one is diving so close to the limits that +/- 1% will make a difference then the error has already been made.

I'd rather have 8 books and a luxury item, as opposed to music. Selecting only 8 books would be difficult, many of the series I read have more than 8 volumes.

Sadly, that wouldn't work quite as well as a radio programme.

1) Tired Horses by Stafford Galli
2) Don't Stop Me Now by Queen
3) A Thousand Miles Away by The Hoodoo Gurus
4) Marrakesh by New Model Army
5) My Immortal by Evanescense
6) Set Fire To The Rain by Adel
7) Too close by Alex Clare
8) Loose Yourself by Eminem

These may change with more time to thing. I'm sure I could sub a few for Eric Clapton or Dire Straits.

Book - Can you count Harry Potter as one book?

The magical, refilling bottle of Coke is a thing, right?

Book... Probably this since I've read it multiple times and don't do that often

Same - although they give you the "Complete Works of" - so they could give you the complete works of 8 authors

That sounds suitable.

If you're going for the complete works of George R.R. Martin, you're going to have to ask for a forklift as a luxury item.

Or have the British Library as your luxury item?
