When did they start charging for 0800 numbers? When I was in the UK, I'm fairly sure I didn't pay on my Orange account.

Everyday 50 by any chance?

Me too. And they were included back in 1999. Everyday 50 was the best mobile contract EVER.

SOME 0800 numbers are free from a mobile, but it's a PITA to find out which

0800Buster is always the go to one for me, got a number saved in my phone so I can call it direct.

Just found out (from mild curiosity) that they are also free to call via Skype, including some international ones :)

I have an app for it as well, but most of the time I use saynoto0870 and get a geographic number which will be free as part of my bundled minutes. It would be great if they were free from all mobiles as well.

No idea, it was 1993 when I got my first mobile phone, Istr. I got about 100 minutes a month. I used an 0800 prefixed to call Germany at low rates from my mobile in 1998/9.

Umm, don't you just dial the same number on your mobile, omitting the the first "0"?

What app would you recommend for iOS?
