I like the idea.
But I have heard it stressed that they're polymer, not plastic.

Same here. The problem is that the public generally are clueless and plastic is something that they might have a better understanding for.

Now, if they'll just develop card chips that are waterproof, I'll no longer live in fear of accidentally putting my wallet through a spin cycle. ;)
