http://www.techradar.com/news/internet/ ... uy-1216492 There's any number of items I recheck out of sheer forgetfulness never mind seeing what price it's hit on the Marketplace... although the high interest leading to a halfway house thing could be good for both Amazon and consumer. Like just about every other net-based retailer Amazon's getting creepier. |

Um. Isn't it the case in UK law that the sender has no right to ask for payment for 'unrequested goods'? I'd be very surprised if UK law would allow 'looking at something' to be the equivalent as a request to purchase. Anyone finding something turn up on their doorstep they didn't specifically ask for could legitimately request a refund from their credit card provider. Basically as soon as Amazon try this in the UK, they're going to find themselves with some problems. |

Also I am finding that Amazon are not as cheap as they once were. eBay regularly undercuts them and items on the site have been getting more expensive. I suspect that a big oart of the delay is that it can sit in the amazon warehouse for three or four days before they ship it. Possibly to encourage people to sign up to Amazon Prime. |

All they have done is patent an idea right? I think Techradar is over-inferring from this when they assume intent to actually go ahead with the plan, and the idea that Amazon will go so far as to ship a product to your door seems fanciful. What they could perhaps do is note how much demand is building up for a given product in an area, and pre-emptively ship a few units to nearby storage, then send you a message saying we have one nearby that you can collect right now if you hit this impulse purchase button. |
