I never buy books - but I do understand the wonders of internet shopping - and since I now want to buy a book, where (generally) is the best place to look? Obviously I've already looked at Amazon and Borders, but thought to ask in case there are some gems out there that you might use? (looking for Roger Crowley's "Constantinople" in Hardback form) Ta Muchly.

Have you looked on eBay? I don't know what sort of book you are looking for, but if you don't mind second hand then you might get a bargain. |

If I know the book I'm looking for (like collecting a series0 then I invariably use Amazon, they are great on service and do have some really good savings. If I'm just browsing for new reading material then I head into Waterstones in town and actually pick up, handle the book and sneak a peek inside. |

How are your experiences with the Amazon traders? Found a new (it's a present) copy for £10.58 from one, which saves me the princely sum of £3.01!

I've only ever used them three times. They were all pretty slow, so I now just go for Amazon (not books tho normally), who are always super-quick. Of course, every trader is different. |

Most of the stuff I've bought from traders has been non-book stuff, and I've not had a problem with any of them. On the one occasion where something was damaged, I got a no-quibble refund after I'd informed them. I think I'd trust Amazon traders more than the ones you find on FleaBay, to be honest. |

Never had any hassle, I also sell on Amazon, and both buying and selling are a much better experience than it is on eBay. Playtraders however, are not as good in my experience - had a few letdowns/problems with them. |

Just had a look at Borders, their online prices are steep, comparatively  While we're on the subject, avoid the Book Depository at all costs - any book I've ever got from them was B-grade at best (ripped, marked etc)
