Hi. I need a little bit of help. I'm trying to remembr the name of a cartoon I have vague memories of watching in the 1980's. Unfortunately I can't find any evidence of it on the internet. The basic premis (as far as I can recall) was a dog who had lost his owner and was trying to find him. I think other dogs helped. I certainly remember one episode being set at Mount Rushmore, and I may remember another episode having something to do with an emerald mine in a jungle.
Does anyone have any idea what this cartoon could possibly be?

Nothing there seems familiar.

Not quite the same I know, but could it be The Puppy's Further Adventures? On YouTube: This episode might ring a bell.

Was this an anthropomorphic dog, or a real one? I can't think of too may off the top of my head, though Dogtanian springs to mind, and Lassie Rescue Rangers. The only thing I can think of that may fit the bill is The Littlest Hobo, but that was live action.

Dogtanian tried to prove he was worthy to be a musketeer. Littlest hobo just roamed around and had no owner.

I used Dogtanian as an example of an anthropomorphic dog - that’s not been determined if the OP remembers more about that - which may help in tracking down the answer.

My bad. The way I read it, I thought you were suggesting Dogtanian as a possible cartoon for the OP.

Do you remember what type of dog it was? Or what colour?

Can you remember the name of the company that produced it? The usual suspects would be:
Filmation Hanna-Barbera Ruby Spears DIC Entertainment Disney Marvel
I ask because there will be varying styles which may ring a bell. Most will be looped repetitions on backgrounds, but some will have more detailed drawing than others. Some (and I’m looking directly at Filmation here) will be little more than a slideshow.
It may help if we know whether the characters were more naturalistic dogs (e.g. Lassie), or anthropomorphised (e.g. Dogtanian), or caricatures (Scooby Doo, Goober and the Ghost Chasers). If you can’t put your finger on the actual images itself, then maybe if you can remember other details, the may help others here with long memories. You may jog something loose. Early 1980s, mid or late? ITV or BBC? Stuff like that.

Just looked at Filmation's Wiki page (that should be the other way round, shouldn't it?); there was to be a Bravestarr spin-off before everything was sold off
