One that may get overlooked now because EVERYONE has seen it and it's no longer a twist:

Terminator 2: When it is revealed that Arnie is the good guy: "get down".

Also:
Flash Gordon: Attack of the Hawkmen
La Jetee: The blink
Solyaris: The final scene.
They Live: "I have come here to chew bubble gum and kick ass..."
The Matrix: "Morpheus is fighting Neo!"
The Matrix: "He's beginning to believe..."
The Matrix: Just the whole flipping film.

Also: did they forget about the LOTR books?

EDIT: OK I'll pick my 10 from that list:

1. "Tears in Rain". That'll do.

That's a modern classic.

I loved the scene in Alien versus Predator where the Predator takes the wrist bomb off and gets asked what it is. He explains by holding out an enormous hand, displaying a mushroom cloud effect with his fingers :D

EDIT -
Quote:
BLADE RUNNER Roy Batty's "Tears in rain" speech

I'm not a big fan of the film but that scene really works.

Only one thing from B5? Poor show.
It's not even got G'Kar in it.

Seriously though:
Babylon 5 - the Severed Dreams Battle: sacrifice of the EAS Churchill and/or the arrival of Delen with reinforcements
Babylon 5 - Dust to Dust: G'Kar's epiphany while he's scanning Londo's mind
Stargate SG1 - Pilot (I think): Carter (about the DHD) "It took us 15 years and three supercomputers to McGyver a system for the gate on Earth" Okay, so maybe not a greatest moment but very funny.
Stargate SG1 - Destruction of the Prometheus
Stargate Atlantis - The city rising out of the ocean
Stargate Universe - the recruitment of Eli Wallace (YouTube clickety
Serenity - The arrival of the Reaver fleet and the look on the face of the council agent guy.
Doctor Who - DALEK - What are you gonna do? Plunger me to death?

Couldn't disagree with your number one choice :). Although as a list it's patent click bait rubbish.

For example, the best scene in The Abyss is obviously the conversation between Mary Elizabeth Mastrantonio and Ed Harris when he's falling down the abyssal in the suit where you breath liquid. In a film that was technically accomplished but actually fairly rubbish, that scene sticks out like a rose in a swamp.

I'm kind of upset they seem to have ignored most of the excellent British genre TV shows too, given it's a British magazine. There's only one scene from the whole of Gerry Anderson's body of work, yet the 'ski to parachute' scene from the Spy Who Loved me - which a stuntman just actually, you know, did, for real, as part of his day job and actually a lot of people now do as a sport- is somehow 'science fiction and fantasy'? No opening credits to Captain Scarlet? No mention of some of the crazy weird scary episodes of Space 1999? One effing scene from Thunderbirds???

Indeed. What about the collapse of the Empire State Building during an ill-advised relocation? Or Thunderbird 2 being shot down by the US Navy? Both from the same episode "Terror in New York city."

Or from UFO, the scene where you find out why the aliens are coming to Earth. Plus the sequence showing the launch of the Interceptors should be there.

Halloween's a great movie but it's not SF or F. Nor are Ringu and Zombie Flesh Eaters.

Good list

I'd add

B5 - Zack turning out the lights
B5 the Dreaming - Delen finds out about her ancestry
B5 - Londo makes Vir's dream come true and he waves at Mr. Mordon's head on a pike.
B5 Garibaldi's favourite thing in the universe, well, 2nd favourite.

Yes, B5 had a lot of very moving movements that get burned into memory. A lot of religious ones as well, which is surprising seeing as MJS is an atheist.

Brother Edward was also a very moving character. In the end, he overcame his fears and had the courage to stay in his garden of Gethsemane. Even just remembering that has tears welling up in my eyes.

No Brave New World? I would have thought the description of the Bokanovsky process would have made it. The creation of a caste system using cloning, chemicals and conditioning.
