http://www.theguardian.com/society/2014 ... hs-funding Thoughts? I'd happily pay a bit more but I'd want guarantees the extra funding was going directly to the NHS and not the private sector leeches. Of course we could massively offset the bill if businesses were actually forced to pay tax in the manner they're supposed to. Though as the article implies, we really should be trying to figure out what's going to cost the most and what's ethically justifiable. |

Why not, instead of increasing taxes, the Govt just stops the £20bn efficiency savings it wants from the NHS? |

Because that would require it to admit that public enterprise can actually be as efficient as private enterprise and there's more chance of David Cameron appearing outside number 10 wearing a beret, a stripy jumper and string of onions. Jon |
