Hi…

The only reason I’m here really is because Saspro PM’d me earlier today, and it was lucky I read it to be honest, because I’m at work, and was on lunch. I don’t use the internet at home so much anymore…

I’ve been having a few troubles as of late, involving my brother.
So I’ll explain to you how this is, what happened and such. I hope you are ready for a nice long read. Hell I might even make it into an audiobook it’s so damn long; Hmm, Stephen Fry to narrate?

My brother is 16; he has been in Army Cadets since he was 7. He had always wanted to go into the army as a driver. He loved the fact that he would be the only person who could get them ammo at such sort notice, who could supply transport at the very nick of time. He’d have liked to be in the thick of it, but not quite in the cream.
So, Keiron joined up, passed every single test the first time with flying colours, came out with a ‘para’ rating. He could have done so well. He gets a letter in the post on St. David’s Day, March 1st; to the attention of Private Greenaway. He was absolutely thrown over himself with self pride when he read the address. He had his date, June 22nd 2009, Pirbright barracks, Surrey.
Every day leading up to it was preparation; eating, drinking, getting up at 4am to run 20 miles, weight lifting, hair cuts, preparing for those early mornings and late nights. We spent around £1000 getting him ready, with his heavy-weight iron, and long johns, he had the lot. From thermal underwear to one of those filter bottles where you can use any fluid at all, turn it upside down and it would be drinkable and harmless.

2 weeks before he was due to go in, he met this girl; Charlotte. I advised him not to make it serious, because he was going in the Army and all the preparation would have gone to waste, and his time and effort, and he told me, in these very words; “Don’t worry Kels, I’m just out for a bit of fun.” I just took it on the head.

On the morning of 22nd June, Keiron was all suited up, ready to get the train when my mum said to him at the last minute; “You don’t [i/have[/i] to do this, you can stay here, get a job or go to college, you don’t have to put your life on the line.” When he abruptly interrupted her and said; “Mum! Don’t do this! This is what I want! This is what I want to do! There’s nothing for me around here, nothing!” She agreed, cried a little, gave a few hugs and kisses on the cheeks and off he went. Charlotte stayed over that night, to see him off in the morning. She was only allowed over on the weekend, but we let her off this time.

That evening we didn’t hear from him until 9pm; my mother was going out of her mind, and she nearly ended up calling the barracks office, until we calmed her down a little.
When he phoned her at 9pm, he said “Mum, it’s not a place you want to be.” My mum going out of her head in absolute worry said to him “Stick it out, you’ll start to like it soon!” Putting on a brave face…
The night after when he called he told us, of how a Bombardier had kicked a metal rubbing bin at him and had bruised his leg, and how another Sergeant has called him a c.u.n.t… He told my mother to say that his girlfriend had fallen pregnant and that she wanted to sign her son out of the Army. My mother did so! Worrying that her son was getting bullied and what not… We all knew that this wasn’t Keiron’s character, how he would never admit defeat.
3 weeks later, his girlfriend did fall pregnant… a 15 year old girl, pregnant. I honestly shock my head in shame told them how stupid they were and how they would never be able to afford to keep it, and that there’s no room at the inn, so to speak. My mother was in bits at this stage, how could her son, coming from a good family, brought up well and wanted to go to the army, all of a sudden succumb to this?! Charlotte had just given up her job, I still have no idea why, and Keiron, just come out of the army didn’t have a job either. They were pretty much at a dead end, and decided that they were going to abort it, because they can’t afford to keep themselves, let alone a baby and a place to live.

Charlotte had booked an appointment with the doctor, a routine check up after going to family planning for the doctor to asses her himself before the abortion. My mother advised her that going to the doctor alone would be a silly mistake. She needed her mother to be with her, and if her mother couldn’t come with her, then she would take her herself. She told her about Social Services, and what they would have done if the found out how young they were, and if there was no parental support. Charlotte told my mother that her mother would be taking her, and not to worry. Meanwhile Keiron was working with my next door neighbour; he was still in work at the time of her appointment. My mother told him that he wasn’t to go to the doctors with Charlotte, because it would look bad on him having sex with an underage girl, and if it went further, he would be on the paedophile list.
Charlotte was constantly texting me at work, and my sister. My sister who had just come home from hospital, from undergoing a pinnectomy on her ears. I was furious.

I got home the next day to find my mother sitting in the char she always sits in when she comes home from work, holding a cigarette and looking into space. He hand was trembling like she’d just had an electric shock. She informed me that Keiron had just gone out and told her that he wanted to be with Charlotte and wasn’t listening to a word my mother was saying. She’d been through enough already what with the Army, finding out she was pregnant, trying to stop him from going to jail, and my sisters operation.
We had a phone call from Keiron that evening… “Charlottes had a miscarriage, the doctor told her yesterday” I was thinking okay… Don’t you like bleed for ages before you mis-carry, and then, don’t you have to go to the hospital to get it swept out, and there were so many things going around in my head I was like… Huh?

My mother and I confronted him about the situation; it came out in that conversation that Charlotte had been to rehab for drinking problems, and had a social worker because she hadn’t attended school since she was 13. It kind of explained itself really… We were speaking about GP’s earlier that week and my father said playfully “Okay then, what does GP stand for?” So we all joked and said, “Its General Practitioner” Then about 2 seconds later, after complete silence she said, with a cigarette in her hand “Isn’t GP a petrol station?” We all just looked at her dumbfounded. How could someone be so bloody stupid is beyond me…? He told us that her step-father says horrible stuff about her like… “Charlotte is the biggest liar God put breath into.” That pretty much summed it all up for me there and then.

Keiron had a lift home from work the next day, and decided to get dropped off at Charlottes, rather than come home, despite my mothers wishes. So I went off on one; I called Charlotte. The conversation went something like this…

Charlotte: Hello.
Me: Charl, are you pregnant?
Charlotte: No… Not anymore (No sign of emotion what so ever)
Me: Why do you lie through the skin of your teeth, a doctor cannot tell you if you’ve miscarried… Plus you need to go to the hospital and what not.
Charlotte: Well, I’m just doing what I’ve been told.
Me: No, you’re lying.
Charlotte: I’m not.
Me: Were you bleeding?
Charlotte: No?
Me: There you go again, you need to have bled, that is a sign of miscarriage…
Charlotte: I’m just going what I’ve been told.

I hung up, I couldn’t take any more of her [LIFTED], and I sure as hell wasn’t going to arse lick either, straight down the middle, straight to the point, straight and a McCoy’s oven chip.

We went to Charlottes mothers house, to see if we could sort something out, I mean surely at 16, their parents get to choose what they do, right? I sure as hell will be with my kids in the future, they’re not allowed to think for themselves, until they can pay their way, and live their way.
So anyway, he mother said to us after we explained the entire situation; “And who do you think you are, telling them what they can and can’t do?” My mum was in shock, she said “I’m his mother that’s who I am. What I say goes.
Keiron and Charlotte were in the house, and heard my mum saying about wanting to sort them out, once and for all.
Keiron came down the stairs, and my mum and I took him to the car to talk to him. Saying how bad this relationship was. How he’d changed, how he wasn’t brought up to be with someone like Charlotte and he said, “That’s it, I’m going to go and kill myself!” Ran out of the car, and we spent the next 4 hours looking high and low for him. He walked in the house at 12.30am, expecting a shower and bed ready for work in the morning. My mum was too tired to argue and let it all be.

The next day, after work, he came home, my mum told him to pack all of Charlotte’s things she has left over and we’d take them up to her. They went, and my mother came back with no one in the car 30 minutes later. Again she was well pissed off.
He’d done it again; he’d gone and ran away. This time though, we got the police involved. Charlottes mother threatened to knock my head off of my shoulders, and apparently my dad had threatened to burn down their house… Hmm, my dad can’t catch a fly and he sure as hell can’t make threats like that. I was there with my dad when we went up to speak to Charlotte’s family and there was nothing of the sort said, nothing.

Keiron ran to Manchester with Charlotte on the Saturday, after this happened, it all took place on the Thursday. On the Thursday night Keiron stormed through the house and punched me in the face and hit my 70 year old grandmother to the ground. I’m supporting a nice purple coloured eye at the moment. Work seems to think it’s funny. Sam on the other hand doesn’t however. I’ve had to hold Sam back the past few weeks from breaking both his legs for what he’s done to my face. Keiron’s been filling in applications forms for accommodation here and in Manchester, which he won’t get because he’s too young.

It’s pretty much been all up in the air, and I’m sorry I haven’t been around, but I’ve had more important things on my mind.

You guys can PM me, and stuff and I will reply, but I won’t be around too much. I’ll keep an eye on this topic because I want to see your opinions.

Love you all,
Kels. x

Wow, wasn't expecting that!

I'm sure he didn't mean it, but I would try and be understanding with him if you suspect it's possible he might. I'm sure you can imagine how devastating that is for a family.

Funnily enough, I only checked last night how long it had been since you had posted and I wondered where you'd gone. I only just had time to scan that at the moment and didn't digest all of it- for example, I don't know whether your brother is still in the army or not but I guess not, but I took enough in to know that you've been having a tough time.

Hang in there, Bish. I wish you all the best but I also offer a little bit of advice. You might want to look out for your brother, but you also might consider leaving him to make his own mistakes. Certainly now, while all this is going on, he probably won't appreciate help being forced on him, but in time, if he knows that you're there for him, he might come to you.

Again, sorry if I've missed something, but I'll digest it all a bit later.

Sorry to hear about all of your problems. :(

2009 seems to be a really bad year for a lot of people! I hope things sort themselves out quickly and you can get your life back to normal.

being the youngest child in my family, my oldest sister used to be "rebel" gothic type, she wasnt around much(i was about 7 at the time), my other sister was head of a gang (chavs) and she left home at 14, and the house would be harassed by the ex gang of hers almost daily, scaring me quite a bit (was under 10 at the time)

needless to say, i would advise telling him to get out of the house, if he treats you lot like this, leave him, it sounds extreamly harsh, but i would recommend it, tell them that if they are in trouble you will give them a basket of food every week so that they can live off it, otherwise they can fend for themselfs

plus remember at 16, its a time of alot of change and stuff (myself being 16) give him a while and iam sure he will make the right decision..

Thanks guys, I knew you'd al understand and welcome me back with open arms.

I made a detour to my mums house on the way home to see how she was holding up, I care for her alot and don't wat to see her hurt. I walked in to find Charlotte sat in her living room. Apparently they've got a place together, and Keirons now got a job.

Charlotte stod to try to "appologise" But before she could even open her moth I said to her...

"I'm not two faced, and I don't lie. So waste your breath with your hollow appology, and basque in the fact that I will never even comprehend your attendance, no matter what. If you marry him, have a baby fathered by him, or move in next door, I will never forgive you what you have done to my family, and if I so much as see you less than a mile from me, you will need to call an ambulance in advance, because this entire village is disgusted with you, andno one will help you. So save it"

I don't care if it was harsh, it needed to be said.

It was a teenage wedding, and the old folks wished them well
You could see that Pierre did truly love the madamoiselle
And now the young monsieur and madame have rung the chapel bell,
"C'est la vie", say the old folks, it goes to show you never can tell

They furnished off an apartment with a two room Roebuck sale
The coolerator was crammed with TV dinners and ginger ale,
But when Pierre found work, the little money comin' worked out well
"C'est la vie", say the old folks, it goes to show you never can tell

It was harsh, but fantastic. I loved the book an ambulance in advance part. Once more, hope everything works out well.

That sucks Kelsey. All I can say (like the others) is hope it gets better, and if worst comes to worst knock her head off. :)
