I filmed the Police arresting someone earlier after taking a couple of photos of the arrest too. Not one word said by Police. Will upload it later for you to see. :) Was quite impressed by the er, correct approach taken by Devon and Cornwall Constabulary.

Because it's not big, it's not clever.

It's some little sh*tty attempt at rebellion like all the little squirts who wear Che tshirts or have the posters and think it makes them special, yet have no idea what he did.

Or the people who intentionally go and have a go at the police for the sake of distrupting others trying to do their job instead of doing something meaningful

And congratulations for pointing out the obvious, you didn't get arrested on something in which there are no legal restrictions (photography in a public place) as long as you don't take photos that could be seen as intelligence gathering. I'm going to make a cup of tea, I'll post a celebration thread if I don't get arrested...

And more Microsoft bashing after my comment, what a f*cking surprise. Funnily enough the only thing the blatant fanboy has to come back as a retort *YAWN*

Maybe Linux users are so thick they can't read other threads on a forum, or do they have a very short memory or is it just fanboys??
viewtopic.php?p=44762#p44762

Or do you not understand what it means if you're not being negative about stuff you don't use/have anything to do with?

I was making the point, as despite there being no legal restrictions there are plenty of examples in the written media, YouTube and even this forum of people being arrested or otherwise challenged by the Police for carrying out a perfectly lawful activity. By highlighting my experience I am demonstrating that not all Police Constables are unaware of English law, their powers or act in an ultra vires manner.

If you have nothing useful to contribute Fin, then as my grandmother would say "If you have nothing useful to add, don't say anything". Or in other words, STFU.

As for the fanboy comment, if using a superior OS makes me a fanboy, so be it. I'll happily sit here in my Ubuntu shirt and happily toddle along with my UNIX and UNIX-like OSes, completely secure and virus-free. 8-)

I'll use my right as a forum of free speech to express my views, I simply posted a youtube video as a parallel to your level of rebellion

What makes a superior OS is purely qualitative, your opinion is exactly that, an opinion.

I'll sit here in my I'm a PC tshirt, watching youtube with native browser support and be completely secure and virus free because I know how to use a computer

Paul, lol.

In an attempt to drag this thread back in the right direction. I also didn't get arrested Monday evening, rather had an unusally understanding and helpful policeman.

Basically, have a friend who works in a bar, man comes in, is drunk and annoying everyone and keeps trying to talk to me and shake my hand, which initially I don't have a problem with; it does however get tedious and long story short he ends up 'squaring up' to a friend of mine and I throw him out. Not literally, I got up and told him it was time to go and it appeared he was raising his hand, so I pushed him out of the door. Not a big shove, he didn't fall over, just out of the door and I returned to my seat. No issue.

He goes outside shouting about how he's going to phone the police, no-one thinks anything of it until the police turn up and come inside. Expecting an ear-bashing (as I currently have no doormans-licence and therefore no right to push him out) I was pleasantly suprised when the first thing the policeman says to me is "So what's up with this idiot outside?". I explained the story, and he confirmed with my friend and asked my other friend (who works behind the bar) that they were happy for him to have been asked to leave etc.

They then went back outside and told him to go away because he wasn't welcome. He wouldn't and was eventually escorted away by the police, that he called. I had to laugh really, but following previous experiences with the police I was particually impressed by the attitude and understanding of the guys that showed up that night.

:D

Sorry, I couldn't resist. Carry on.

I would dual boot to a Mac OSX if I can get round to it as I fancy trying a shot at some app store dev stuffs, and you can only dev on a mac....and they ain't getting £500 for a p*ss poor dev machine when I have a very capable one sitting next to me

Annoyingly they don't like ATi cards....

They do like ATi cards.

You just have to look in the right places. Kalyway springs to mind, so does iPC.

Type those into your favorite "search engine" and enjoy. :D
