This is odd, just visited these forums in Safari on my iPad - as Tapatalk doesn't seem to be working properly - and I briefly get the x404 page, then this pops up...

Image

Managed to close the tab down - it was the only tab open, so it must be related to this site - and cleared the history and cache. It hasn't happened again since, but just a heads up guys. Keep your wits about you.

And before anyone says, no I haven't visited any dodgy sites on the iPad - I'm a good boy! ;)

Interesting.
Just plugged that address into TorBrowser and was redirected to msn.com.
The domain shows as parked with GoDaddy. Hmmm.

We haven't been hacked but tapatalk have had some "security issues" with their systems (only just got the email from them).

Interesting. I have Tapatalk installed, but I wasn't using it when the message popped up, I was in Safari instead. I did update Tapatalk to the latest version after the older version wasn't showing any Unread posts, despite there being some,. After updating it, the Unread posts started working but this morning they stopped again, so back to square one, hence the switch to using Safari.

What I can't understand is how the iOS Safari can be affected by Tapatalk, isn't iOS supposed to stop anything like that with Sandboxing apps? I think I might just remove it to be on the safe side! Mind, Cloaked_wolf doesn't have Tapatalk, so that blows that theory out of the water I guess?

Could you possibly post the Tapatalk email here?

Taps talk is installed on the server. (Which is how/why we are able to use the app).

The security issue will be with either tapatalk directly or with the server plugin.

The app in you phone is completely sandboxed so can't affect safari like this.

I don't have tapatalk installed. It hasn't affected me every time but seems to be random. It's happened to me twice when I've visited here today via iphone, and not at all when visiting here on ipad or laptop.

my bio has been "hacked" someones changed the location, my hobbies etc which is kinda accurate

Amateur historian,

very true on the ww2 part

Interests:Bird watching, I dont look at girls so that ones a bit false

Flower arranging,

as the location "in the past" then yes "in the past" I did flower arrange but with my first car at the time, (donuts in playparks driving over flowerbeds etc)

long walks on the beach at sunset

very true as I search the whole coast for newly washed up bombs or aircraft parts

wonder who it was who changed the bio

Just got a similar pop up as above, this one was hosted from a nursing home (!) ostensibly but the exact same spiel.

The main site or the forum directly?

For me it's the forum directly, using a bookmark in Safari on iOS.
