Post subject: | Interview (gulp) |
I have an interview on Thursday, essentially to re-apply for my own job. The role has changed a little and has been extended to cover the supervision of twice the number of staff; so that qualifies the need to re-apply, apparently. Needless to say, I am not looking forward to it. I'm pretty sure that some of the other applicants will be from more senior postions within the company, who have already lost out during the current cull. I'm fairly confident in my abilities but, pitched against senior staff with more management experience, the whole process leaves me feeling a little exposed. As I see it, all I can do is concentrate on my record and achievements and see how it plays out. Any tips are greatly appreciated. Regards Spreadie. |

That sounds a little dodgy!! If you don't get the job, will you get redundancy pay?? They can't fire you, so where do you stand? |

If I don't get the job, I will be made redundant, if no other positions become available during my notice period. |

I have never worn a suit for an interview, trousers and shirt yes (and probably a tie) but never a full suit Birthday suits aren't suitable attire either! |

Not in uniform if I do that. Shorts are permissible, however, so long as they're not denim and of a tailored cut. Cargo pockets are fine. |

Good luck with it! Remember to tell them that you know exactly what to do and how to do it because you do it already. And also tell them that you won't make it easy for the next person ![]() |
