Oh, Lordy. Hadn’t they learned their lesson with Enterprise (assuming all of this is true)? They took ages trying to show-horn that series into with existing canon and ended up stifling themselves in the process. That’s why Abrams did what he did - to break the near religious adherence to Trek dogma.

The best ideas I’ve heard have been either reboots, or setting the series far enough in the future to make continuity a passing historical interest.

Suddenly remembers Enterprise C. Oooh....

Catherine Hicks, meaning her two most famous roles have been alongside captains of the Enterprise.

Try as I might, I can”t find a reference to her other Trek appearance.

Nuclear wessels. I remember this film was on the telly the day before I went on a works trip to San Francisco (my first, and I expect last foray to the USA), and I was hoping to see a bit of what the film offered. I didn’t, spending much of my time in the subterranean hell that was the Moscone Centre full of Mac nerds.

I don't think that sentence necessary implies two 'Trek' appearances, more two appearances alongside actors or actresses who have played captains in Star trek shows...

Found it! Hooray for Ninja Google Skills and the time to actually do a deeper search on the subject.

She was in a film called 7th Heaven, opposite Stephen Collins, who played Captain Will Decker in Star Trek: TMP.

Anyone else think it was odd that at the end of The Voyage Home, Doctor Gillian Taylor isn’t put in charge of looking after the whales (after all, she will be the only person on the planet with first hand experience of the species), but tossed onto a ship and sent off into the great unknown? Bloody Starfleet Human Resources being incompetent again.

This is what I'm sort of hoping for from this show.

Ehhhxcellent.

Prelude to Axanar looks amazing. I hope they can follow through and maintain the same level of quality for the actual production.
