This is what I'm sort of hoping for from this show.
Nope. The U.S.S. Discovery, designation NCC-1031.
I posted a link instead of placing an image incase there's anyone spoiler sensitive in the audience.

Mark

Hmmm, that reg number and design put this between Enterprise and TOS.

It has also been confirmed that the show is set in the Prime timeline.
Unless there's some wibbly-wobbly time-travel going on, you're right when you say between Enterprise and TOS.

Even the reviews that were putting a positive spin on it couldn't muster any enthusiasm without couching their words. It looks like too many cooks, frankly.

maybe the theater experience is different in Europe

It is, it is. To start with, you have a stage and real people strutting about speaking words they have memorised. Certainly no Star Trek in my local theatres, though there is some low-rent am-dram musical being put on in one, and probably something to do with urban based angst in another.

A bit slow on the uptake, there.
This thread has already deduced that the number of the ship firmly places the show between Enterprise and TOS, barring any wibbly-wobbly timey-wimey surprises.

I know, but I wasn't sure if there was anything new to that link.

I like the section 31 theory. Maybe that’s why the ship looks more Klingon in shape and colour scheme (plus the accompanying music fits with that culture more), and it’s hiding in an asteroid. Pretty much all starships are some shade of grey - Discovery is definitely the colours they used for the Klingon HIgh Council chambers in TNG.

Also, for those who love a crossover theory, it’s also the same colour as the soldier Daleks (I guess that’s that’s what they are) in the Dr Who reboot.

2016 claims another :(

I wouldn't necessarily described him as a star of DS9 though. Yes he was in it but he was only a recurring character for what, seasons 6 and 7? Still a shame though.

Trying to think what the event was that's been mentioned in a few Trek series that he was going on about.

It's presumably a first contact type situation but nothing really springs to mind.
