Today I spotted Metro have done a list of 80's films that are 'unwatchable'. What films have? I think Gorky Park is still very good. 15 movies we loved in the 80s that are unwatchable now |

I don't agree with a good amount of that list but this..... The Transformers: The Movie (1986) No. Just no. It's still awesome and certainly far far better than Mr Bay's efforts. How very dare you! |

Looking back at some of the 80s films I've watched, the ones that I've loved and enjoyed still seem to rock. They do have a dated feel but aren't unwatchable. I watched DARYLL some time in the 90s and loved it. Ferris Beuller is completely watchable and I still love it. BTTF2 wasn't as good as the first one but it still had intelligent moments. I agree that anything that depicts the future will look cheezy but back then the year 2000 was a long way off and everything would be super advanced or post-apocalyptic. Karate Kid was and still is awesome. |

I think I've seen 3 of the films listed in the 80s and maybe a couple for the first time more recently. For me the 80s was all about films like Subway and Diva rather than the Hollywood trash listed in the article. |

That article's nonsense, a good film is a good film. For instance I'm not a massive fan of 'Jedi but it's still watchable. |

I'd happily watch 'Big Trouble in Little China' again anytime. |

Most of those movies are ones I thought would be crap even back in the 80's. Jedi is flawed but perfectly watchable as is Ferris Bueller's Day Off. Haven't seen any of the others all the way through. |

What a lot of nonsense that list is. There's far worse to come out of the 80s. Smokey & The Bandit 3, Superman III, The Delta Force, Cyborg, The Punisher... |

Delta Force is outstanding! Chuck Norris? On a bike? That fires missiles? With a brilliant theme tune? ![]() |

yeah but 4 was [LIFTED] at the time... and 3 bombed, even though it's to this day my favourite Superman. Gus, if there's one thing I can't stand.... it's greed. |

No mention of Dune? I find it hard to watch now, to the point where I have switched it off at the line "they tried and died" a couple of times. |

'Dune' is David Lynch trying to be commercial. It's got it's moments though. |

Well, Footsloose is better than the remake. I'll agree with Transformers the Movie, although I was never into Transformers, so that is more of a personal thing. The Secret of my Success and Ferris Bueller? Classics that are still watchable today - in fact I watched FB last week. Risky Business was never really up there with the other two. Star Wars and BTTF2, yeah, they were the weakest parts of their respective series, but there wre much worse films. Pretty in Pink, Pink Flamingo, Mannequin anyone? Twins? Come on, it is funnier than any Adam Sandler film! Cocktail, meh, it was cool at the time, but so was TGI Fridays Big Trouble in Little China is a great little film. |
