Handles that go on to doors. More specifically backplate levers but not the scroll kind.

Given that the fiancee and I are due to move into a house, I went to take some photos of fixtures and fittings. The majority have been modernised but a few haven't and I'd like to complete the look.

Is there any reasonable way of trying to track down the door handles used on some of the doors in our house?

Have tried google images, and also any websites purporting to stock door handles (first three pages of google results).

Merged threads, saspro

So it went well then? Congratulations to you both :)

There are various bespoke companies that do historic work for house restorers, maybe try a google search for vintage restoring companies who might be able to put you onto someone who can do snecks?

Oh yeah forgot. The entire day went as perfectly as planned (with the exception of the weather).

Found the door handle. The finish is "Black Iridium"

I always take one (or a photo) to the local builder's merchants. They can usually track the stuff down.

Glad you found it anyway.

And congratulations. Have you set a date, or are you letting it sink in first?

Welcome to the wedding tax realm, where a 50p bread roll cost £4.50 if part of a wedding buffet :D

That's why we did it on the quiet. Much less stress and no extra money needed to invest, just the cost of the registrar fees, a bottle of champers and a wedding bouqet. We then informed the family after the fact. Downside is, of course, no wedding presents, but thereagain they probably just about cover the expense of the reception...

Of course, it was my wife's third time, so she didn't want a big wedding. Very different if it is the first time.

We're looking at December, there's some very reasonable deals for 60 lunch/120 evening for about 5k

That is why you don't tell them its a wedding - its just a big party
SWMBO had a big party a couple of years ago (major milestone age) and to hire the place, with barman etc was £900. It is was a wedding then the hire is £2000 for the same. We liked the place so much some friends of ours had there wedding reception there but just told them it was a party and so was only charged the £900

This has to be the worst Two Ronnies tribute sketch ever.

Ha! As if that wasn't dark and twisted enough!
Kudos for posting the original actress for that part too.

Post subject:  New house stuff

As I alluded to in another post, we've bought a new house. It has already been redecorated in the last couple of years (new wallpaper, new carpet). But it'll be our first house and we're in need of suggestions and recommendations. Will update this thread as things progress.

The aim is to get the house ready to move into before April, which means six weeks. Neither of us fancy moving in when things aren't ready.

1. Door handles
2. Appliances
3. Furniture
