OK, blatantly stealing from the Radio 1 feature here...

I'm looking for some new music to listen to and thought I'd start a thread incase anyone else wants new music ideas also. If you do then post what you like (and what you like about it) and hopefully people will come back with some ideas of music that you might like.

Anyway...

Just got the Basement Jaxx - Singles album and I love it. I love the fast, upbeat, funkiness of it. Also like Fun Lovin' Criminals, Jamiroquai and Outkast for kind of the same reasons.

So anywho, anyone got any recommendations?

Doesn't Amazon do that 'Here's what other people looked at' thing? And their lists off to the side...

Did you catch them on their latest tour? They're fantastic live.

Sounds like you have similar tastes to myself. There's plenty of good new music out there. You just need to keep an ear out.

Check out "Dungen". They're a psychedelic, Swedish folk rock band. A bit zeppelinesque in places.

And, if you haven't heard them, The Mars Volta. Start with their first album "Deloused in the Comatorium".

He played bass for them on their first album for sure, and trumpet on the first and second at least.

Oh, and check out a band called Howlin Rain. Especially their second album "Magnificent Fiend". Stunning. 8-)

Sadly, no. A friend was organising it, but you had to enter a TimeOut draw to see them in London. Obviously, we didn’t get picked. Next time round, I hope.

The last.fm one annoys me though, only love or ban a track and although it has the larger back catalogue is harder to filter
(for instance on jango I can add/remove an entire band as opposed to individuaklly hating all songs on last.fm)
