Could somebody please give me the lowdown on every different style?

I'm talking lager, pale/deep/hoppy ale etc, stout and porters. All knowledge gratefully received :D

Granted.

But it would be nice to have a clue what all the different types are as one embarks on such a mission!

This was the first microbrew you drank in college, possibly in the parking lot outside of a Widespread show, and you've never turned back. You used to put the bottles you drank on display until your girlfriend put a stop to it. So you broke up with that girlfriend. You're kind of depressed now, but at least you've got all these sweet bottles, right?!? RIGHT?!??

Now, if anyone fancies coming down for the London Beer festival in august organised by CAMRA at the apollo, I am sure we can stretch to a pint or 6.

i recommend going to visit the St Austell brewery for anyone near cornwall.

There is also the Peterborough Beer Festival 25 - 29 August, also a CAMRA event. I'm going to go out on a limb here and say it's probably a bit cheaper than the London one and the still normally have 300 odd beers to try, although the number tends to diminish a bit towards the end of the week.

I think there's a decent Event at Nottingham Castle too. Might have to make an effort.
