My apologies for just how Guardian this link actually is... http://www.theguardian.com/commentisfre ... k-hangoverThat made me realise that all of the people I know who regularly drink at home are women, for whatever reason. Both the other men and women leave it to the weekend. If I am having a drink, we're talking a few vodka and Cokes at the weekend, often months apart. I'd find it very difficult to get drunk in the house even if I wanted to. Mind you, that could be the Coke Ever been concerned about your drinking? Wouldn't change it for the world? Any particular habits? Or has this post put the idea in your head, for good or bad?

I live on my own so as a general rule won't drink in the house (unless I've got some guests to drink with). In a normal month I'll go to the pub a couple of times and usually have 4 or 5 pints (which I guess is binge drinking ). There will probably be a bit more drinking in August as I'll be off up to Scotland to see friends and family for a week and there will also be the Peterborough beer festival at the end of the month.

I was completely tee-total for about eight years until maybe a year ago. As it stands I very rarely drink alcohol now even though I could since I often drive to social events. So I'm probably having a couple of units a month maybe.

Guessing most of that is the communion wine too? Fairly infrequently here for me, despite living in one of the most famous wine producing regions in the entire world. A lot of it's just financial, there's rather more stuff I'd rather spend the money on that decent quality alcohol costs. I also rather got out of the habit when I was regularly taking Diazepam and Tramadol together, as neither of those play well with alcohol.

The odd bottle of wine, probably works out to a bottle every month or two.

At my last works medical, after giving a lengthy and detailed desciption of my drinking habits, I was classified as a non-drinker! Not something I'd ever expect.
I'll buy the odd bottle of wine and maybe I'll pick up a four pack of beer once or twice a month, once in a blue moon I'll pour myself a whisky or glass of Glayva. We only go out, or have people over, occasionally so social drinking is also quite uncommon.
Having said that, we have family coming to stay in a couple of weeks and my father and I will no doubt burn through a few bottles of gin and a bottle or two of whisky, as well as plenty of beers, over the course of a week or so. I guess the classification should be binge drinker.

Less than a pint a week. I can go months without a drink. Sas and I share a craft beer every now and then

Maybe one unit a month, then others I might get together with friends and have 5 or 6. At the moment it's rare though.
