2052 - it’s that copyright that runs out in 2053. After that time, Tintin becomes public domain.

Mind you, I can’t help thinking that people are being persuaded to allow newer stories sooner than that. Others seem to be doing well: Blake and Mortimer, The Smurfs, Asterix, Lucky Luke to name a few. Also the new Tintin translations makes me feel that they want a new language to bed in so it’s consistent with newer stories.

Time will tell.
