I'm glad Singing in the Rain is up there. I love a good old fashioned musical.

It's a very strong list, but only a supposedly professional critic would try to tell you weird dross like Eyes Wide Shut, Mullholland Drive and The Tree of Life were good by any subjective measure.

Eyes Wide Shut is [LIFTED].
I'll get around to a more comprehensive post regarding this list soon I hope.

I've seen 55 of the films listed. Of those, there's some I most certainly would not include in a list of my top 10 American films - if I was to create such a list.
There was a distinct lack of animated films on the list too, and at the monet I guess this century hasn't produced any real gems that the critics thought worthy of inclusion, which I hope would have changed were this undertaking to happen towards the end of the century.
