Well done Japan :D

Now if Argentina can just to that to the Kiwi's (and I am off to the match) then I will be a very happy bunny

I think there's a fighting chance of that. Argentina are no mugs and certainly not 'minnows' in the way Japan in theory are. However NZ are obvious favourites still.

I think it was more frustrating from having lead for near enough all of the game, only to take our foot off the gas at the end.

Out of interest, can Wales actually field a starting XV, let alone a full compliment of subs any more?

I just enjoyed a really close game. You win some of those, you lose some of those. But as for embarrassing... it's far from the most unlikely result, especially compared to some in this World Cup so far. Big dent in England's prospects though, they're probably going to have to beat Australia now.

Wales's injuries are mounting up and are going to become a factor later in the tournament - they can obviously field a decent team as it is but the lack of replacements / rotation in the group games means they're all spending too many minutes on the pitch. By the time you get to the semis the entire welsh squad (what's left it) could be utterly knackered.

Beating England may mean Wales don't win the World Cup. For some Welsh, they'd say that's a fair bargain, but I think the sensible ones would say not. Winning the World Cup in England would surely be a bigger coup than beating England in England, which is something they've done fairly often over the years.

Without beating England it would be highly unlikely we could progress to the 1/4 finals anyway.......... as we are uncertain about beating the Aussies.

And yes I think our injury will mean we, sadly, don't progress much further anyway.

It was engrossing and enjoyable to watch, but twelve penalties! England threw that game away - did they think Wales wouldn't come at them when they sat back?

Wales wanted it more, and deserved the win; but at what cost to the rest of their tournament? Then again, I know a number of Welsh fans who, while being disappointed if they go out early, will be pretty satisfied with beating England on their own turf, and possibly preventing them from progressing too. It isn't nastiness, it's just that the rivalry is that strong. Personally, I'd have been happier if they drew and both teams progressed to the knock-out stages with fewer injuries.

They were sh!t, and deserved to lose. Aus were on their game but, even so, England didn't look like they were up for it. It was a tough group , but they gifted a win to Wales and wilted in front of the Wallabies.

I thought Italy were the more entertaining team, although I only saw the second half. Ireland will have to play an awful lot better than that to beat France.

My big question - can Scotland do their usual and grab defeat from the jaws of victory or will the actually get through to the next round?
