I found some more stereo photos - this time of the American Civil War. The US Library of Congress has posted them online. The problem is that in many cases, the glass plate negatives have deteriorated, which can affect the perception of the images when viewed stereoscopically. I’ve downloaded a few, and used Stereo Photo Maker to align them (probably more accurately than the originals would be). Pictures from around 1860 onwards.

The images are of their time:

An Auction and Negro Sales emporium.

A sling cart used to remove captured artillery

Ga. Gen. William Sherman on horseback.

If you can go cross eyed, you can view these images. Look at the screen and cross your eyes, and let the pictures overlap. They should appear to have depth. 8-)

There are around 2500 such images. That’s a lot of sift through.

There's probably more like that. I've not had a chance to look through them all, but I hope to find more. I don't condone it, but as a historical record, such images need preserving. We, as a species, did those things.
