Given that it's officially 1st December, I'm now happy to start talking about Christmas.

Put the tree up yesterday

Will be re-doing it tonight as I VASTLY over-estimated the quantity of lights I needed.

We've just bought our first tree (always a fake) for our new house. John Lewis basics one for £40. It'll do. Money's tight this year. But how do you work out how many lights you need? Baubles we could just buy lots and then use/reuse. Also please post pics of your Xmas decorations, meals, memes in here.

I'd say use enough baubles, tinsel and lights to cover at least one side of the tree. Preferably the side you can see (assuming it's in a corner) :D

I do less is more, a few handpicked / handmade ornaments then buy new ones every year. Lights, for a 6 ft tree you probably need two standard loops to start. Tinsels is where I fall normally

I'll be hosting Christmas for the family this year for the first time ever and have no decorations at all (as I normally go back to the parents for the holidays).
Meh, not sure if I can be bothered getting any. The main thing is the family being together.

This may be a new record... I already have my birthday and Christmas present for this year, (new camera) so, last night, I told the wife that for NEXT years birthday/Christmas present, I'd love a PS4. Yes, it's for Kick Off! And the new Star Wars game.

Came home last night and the house on the corner is lit up like Christmas lights are going out of fashion

I'd hate to see their electric bill. Even throughout the year there are lamps on in every window - OTT

No, it's a fantastic excuse for a lazy working environment, days off, getting fat(ter) etc.
