The James Bond 007 themes that didn't make it | Den of Geek

The poppy ones generally don't sound like Bond themes to me (the ones that stick in my mind are orchestral in tempo at the very least, hello John Barry), but I like the St. Etienne and Straw ones. The Johnny Cash number is class but might make for a strange Bond theme! And can you imagine the state of a James Bond who would be accompanied by Pulp

I've always liked Another Way To Die - I think it's bad connotations come more from the sh1te it was attached to. Other personal faves are Goldeneye, The World Is Not Enough, A View To A Kill, Tomorrow Never Dies... there's probably an obvious one I'm forgetting!

Phyllis Hyman – Never Say Never Again. Not a bad song at all, could definitely be reworked for today's thickos.

I just remembered that pish Cornell released... and Madge's Die Another Day got into your head despite being crap

There's an album called 'Shaken Not Stirred' on which David Arnold (who did the orchestral soundtracks to Bond for a while) got a bunch of people to record cover version of classic Bond theme songs. Some of them are very, very good. Iggy Pop doing 'We Have All The Time In The World', Leftfield doing 'Space March' (from Moonraker) and Martin Fry's version of Thunderbolt is just.. well you have to hear it. Plus Natacha Atlas's version of 'From Russia With Love' is sexy as hell.

If I was to give you my top Bond themes, they'd be - in no particular order

Live & Let Die
The World Is Not Enough
Diamonds Are Forever (Bassey gets all the shouts for 'Goldfinger' but that's a better tune)

It's free on Prime Music or whatever the fcuk it's called - I'll give it a go, cheers!

I like Live and Let Die, but I much prefer the GnR version.

Radiohead's Bond theme the gift that fans didn't Spectre receive for Christmas | Music | The Guardian

That's not bad, but obviously depends on your tolerance of them. Certainly better than that drivel that was used.

My fave is the Propellerheads' version of OHMSS, which is the best Bond theme IMO.
