The top 30 must-see movies of 2016 | Den of Geek
http://www.denofgeek.com/movies/2016-mo ... es-of-2016

Independence Day: Resurgence - Didn't give a stuff about the first one, and this one doesn't even have Will Smith.
Fantastic Beasts And Where To Find Them - Looks good, just not my sort of thing.
She Who Brings Gifts - Sounds like a certain video game, but I like the premise and the cast.
Ghostbusters - I hate the director's previous work and... just, Melissa McCarthy.
The Purge 3 - Those films are cheap, nasty sh1t filling the space left behind by other cheap, nasty sh1te like Saw and Hostel.
The BFG - Best trailer I've seen in a long time.
Eddie The Eagle - Actually liked the look of this, which I didn't expect considering the story.
A Monster Calls - Another good trailer as I recall.
How To Talk To Girls At Parties - Think that's the first I've heard of this one...
Billy Lynn's Long Halftime Walk - Sounds like a curious one.
Moana - Another one I don't know much about.
Deadpool - Oh, yeah :D
Everybody Wants Some - Keep seeing the guy's name but I've never watched any of his stuff.
Triple Nine - Like that.
Star Trek Beyond - Really hope that brings the Enterprise back around... The trailer wasn't ST at all.
X-Men: Apocalypse - I've been deliberately avoiding the trailers for this cos DOFP was rather good.
Tale Of Tales - Er, no.
Kubo And The Two Strings - So far it looks like an indie video game.
Doctor Strange - Apparently it's Marvel's version of Fantasia for a lazy description, but I hope not. The good thing is I go in with no expectation of the character at all lol.
Warcraft - Know nothing about the game but I like the trailer.
Batman V Superman: Dawn Of Justice - NOTHING I've read or seen of this movie gives me confidence, nothing.
Bourne 5 - Need to see something from it of course, but I'm not sure I give a crap about Bourne after so many mediocre sequels.
Free Fire - Know nothing about it or the other films mentioned.
Captain America: Civil War - Not even watching the trailer, Cap 2 is one of the best Marvel films and this is from the same team. My only fear is that Marvel start crowbarring forthcoming attractions in on top of the giant cast list.
Midnight Special - That looked interesting.
Passengers - Curious about that one.
Star Wars: Rogue One - Been deliberately avoiding all the chatter and haven't seen TFA yet, so...
Suicide Squad - Just so hopeful, but it might not even matter if the movie DCU is crippled even further by Snyder. Honestly, Michael Bay could have made a better MoS, but they're still letting him by their point guy
The Nice Guys - Liked the look of that.
Story Of Your Life - Another director whose work I haven't caught - like the premise though.

The one I most want to see there is Deadpool, strangely! At the moment it looks like they got it so right.

Any on the list (or not) you're looking forward to?

There's a lot in that list that I don't know anything about nor have heard about.

Quote:
Independence Day: Resurgence - Loved the first one but didn't know they were doing a second one. What's the point?
Ghostbusters - Meh. If they were gonna do Ghostbusters 3, I'd have wanted the original cast and wanted it soon after the second. There's nothing in the current cast that makes me want to see it.
The BFG - Vaguely knew it was out but gonna hold off until I've read some reviews.
Deadpool - Looks immense.
Batman V Superman: Dawn Of Justice - Gonna watch it but not holding high hopes.
Captain America: Civil War I loved TWS and this looks promising too.
Suicide Squad - Will watch this probably. Assault on Arkham was amazing. If both BvS and SS bomb, DCU will be dead in the water

A few notable titles missing from the list for me :
Silence - directed by Scorsese, though I am by no means a massive fan of his films.
Hail, Caesar! by the Coen brothers (Tilda Swinton is in it too)
The Huntsman
Assassin's Creed
The Revenant
The Hateful Eight
Pride and Prejudice and Zombies
Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon 2
Mechanic : Resurrection (Jason Statham)
The Girl on the Train
Underworld 5 (just because it's an Underworld film and I enjoy them)

You know what? The number of unnecessary sequels mentioned so far utterly depresses me. Who thought Crouching Tiger Hidden Dragon needs a sequel?

Yep, I'm in total aggreement with that, but what I've seen of it so far looks utterly beautiful, just like the first one was.
I'll probably see it just on that basis.

Never mind Underpants, have you seen Stake Land? Now that's a decent vampire movie ;)

All the films I really wanna see are likely in 2017 :( (Prometheus 2, Predator 4, any amount of Marvel movies and potentially things like He-Man).

Stake Land was ok but the Lost Boys will always be the best vampire film

You liked Prometheus then? lol

Prometheus is a half decent film, which is all you can really hope for now.

I look forward to pride, prejudice and zombies as it looks ridiculous.

The trailer for that looks sh!te. Really sh!te.

X-Men: Apocalypse - I've been deliberately avoiding the trailers for this cos DOFP was rather good.

This one looked better, but it immediately followed the Star Trek trailer, so it's hard to judge.
