The beginning was really good. Then I started falling asleep. Then they started fighting and literally took out half of America probably killing loads of people. And then they praised Superman.

It was like a Jason Statham film except EVERYTHING was CG.

That was might thoughts exactly. It felt like a 1.5hr fight scene, with too much bang, swish and wallops.
At the same time, i found the way they tried to fill the plotholes with crazy explanations cute.
Also Lois shoots a Nikon :D

If one is diving so close to the limits that +/- 1% will make a difference then the error has already been made.

I don't think we ever saw him shaving but there was a shot where he was offering shaving assistance to a fellow Kryptonian by using the side of a skyscraper.

In one of the original films we did see him use his heat vision and a mirror to shave. As that film came out hundreds of years ago does this still count add a spoiler? lol

It reminded me of a Transformers movie, a wave of soulless CGI and despite it's ridiculous relative running time no character. Seriously, neither set of Supe's parents come across as the bedrock of what the story needs him/them to be, and if you've messed up there... I've never seen so many people go for a piss half an hour into a film, or as many near the end either! That reminds me, the film feels like it's ended at least twice. Maybe that was just wishful thinking on my part

Random thoughts...

There's times when Cavill looks positively creepy in this. Mind you the film does have some sort of dark filter permanently on, so maybe he saw early footage and thought they were going for a horror angle  . It looks pretty grainy in places too :?

The suit's bloody awful. In fact the whole styling of the film's awful.

Anyone else reminded of Independence Day? I'd actually sooner watch that again...

I've found the recent wave of superhero films to be pretty much formulaic and repetitive. I stopped watching them as I felt I was paying for pretty much the same story but in different costumes. Even the more recent Batman films fell into this pattern, but stretched over three films.

It wasn't incredibly bad, it wasn't good either. Just a very average movie.
All the characters were a bit hollow, the only one I enjoyed was Perry.
